Firewalls
If you have a connection to the internet, if you have a company intranet quickly simply you need a firewall. Not having one lays your business open to hackers. These days hackers aren’t just content with hacking into your system and getting your important data, they can use your internet connection to commit offences against high profile sites. If you don’t have a firewall can your business sustain the downtime if your system is hacked?

Anti-Virus
A good anti-virus program is also a must. The best way to protect your data is to have a good anti-virus program and a good firewall.
We can install both these programs for you and either train a member of your staff to update them when required or offer a contract to do this for you.

Encryption
There are several encryption programs available. These can protect your data from misuse. Encryption keeps your data private. We will install the most appropriate package for you and train you and any relevant staff members in its use.

Data erasure or recovery
Putting a file into your waste bin doesn’t delete it from your system. It can be recovered. We have all seem the stories in the media of computers sold at auction and subsequently been found to have sensitive information on them. Using specialized software we can delete files securely so they can never be recovered. If you are replacing old equipment we can erase all data from the hard drive. Conversely we can also try and recover lost data which has been accidentally deleted. For hard drive failures or very large recoveries we can recommend a specialized recovery firm.

Passwords
Most people choose their date of birth, their children’s or spouse’s name or date of birth, their favourite sports team or their pet’s name as their password. The best passwords contain letters, upper and lower case, and numbers. A one off lecture can be arranged teaching your staff how best to chose a password that is memorable but secure.
We also have programs that can recover or reset lost passwords.

Backups
Do you back up your information of a regular basis? We can offer a contract to back up your information of a weekly, monthly or yearly basis. With the increased use of CD-ReWriters and DVD Writers it is now more cost effective than ever to backup on a more regular basis.
